GORDI Foundation (Global Organisation of Responsible Developers and Investors) launched Founded in 2007, the GORDI Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit, international organisation headquartered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. However, there is currently no globally-recognised and/or trusted "green label" that real estate buyers, sellers, owners, investors, financiers and other stakeholders can rely on. For this reason, GORDI wishes to introduce the "GORDI standard" that aims to become a recognised, trusted and respected brand in the real estate industry. By joining our Global Organisation of Responsible Developers and Investors (GORDI), you will be part of a lively international network of leading real estate developers, investors, financiers and other stakeholders from around the world, who share a common mission and strive to achieve economic, social and environmental success. GORDI's vision GORDI envisions a world whereby buildings produce more energy than they consume, where real estate buyers and investors can rely on a trusted, globally-recognised "green standard" prior to entering into any real estate transactions, and where developers, investors, financiers and other stakeholders focus on the "triple bottom line" (People, Profit, Planet) in the real estate sector. GORDI's mission GORDI's mission is to promote sustainability, social responsibility, accountability and business excellence and separate the wheat from the chaff among developers and investors of real estate (including master-planned communities, cities, villages, islands and commercial real estate) world-wide, through certification, education, information and by introducing a set of "GORDI" best-practice principles for responsible development and investment. GORDI's portal GORDI's Web-based portal aims at showcasing best practices and serving as a platform for developers, investors and all stakeholders to engage in an informed, ongoing dialogue. Through its portal, GORDI wishes to introduce a global on-line resource for real estate developers, investors, financiers and other stakeholders world-wide in order to educate about and advocate for the "triple bottom line" (People, Profit, Planet) in the world's real estate sector. Our "GORDI Certification" programme as well as development, investment and partnership opportunities will also be promoted through GORDI's English-language Web site.
