July 8, 2003 -- Drs. Ewout G. Hoogendoorn, Managing Director, Horwath Consulting Europe and Owner / Director, Horwath Consulting Benelux, will deliver a keynote speech titled 'Developing a universal system of accounts for the European golf courses in order to benchmark golf course operations' to a distinguished audience of industry leaders, top investors, leading entrepreneurs, decision-makers, government officials, policy formers and professionals at the 2003 European GOLF Investment and Real Estate Conference in Athens on November 29, 2003. Ewoud's presentation will discuss the fact that at this point, no real financial benchmarks are available for the European golf market. In order to establish such benchmarks there is a need to develop a uniform system of accounts for golf courses. Although there are many benchmarks on course occupancy and numbers of golfers, there is an urgent need for financial benchmarks, like Horwath Consulting has made for the Dutch Golf market. With a response rate of 40% of all Dutch courses Horwath Consulting has developed the GOSTA, a report which offers a financial benchmark for the Dutch golf market.
