Yiannis Papadomarkakis, Publisher, RE+D (Real Estate and Development) magazine, to speak at the 2003 European GOLF Investment and Real Estate Conference & Exhibition

October 28th, 2003 -- Mr. Yiannis Papadomarkakis, Publisher, RE+D (Real Estate and Development) magazine, Greece, will deliver a speech titled 'New Aspects Need to be Considered in Developing Resorts and Leisure Real Estate in the Mediterranean' to a distinguished audience at the 2003 Europea GOLF Investment and Real Estate Conference in Athens on November 29th, 2003.

"Europe's population is aging and people's money is heading South [Southern Europe]," says Yiannis. "That's what makes the residential tourism industry a great opportunity for Southern European and Mediterranean countries, and especially for Greece. The development in Spain and Portugal has saturated. The new, potentially emerging markets in Southern Europe are Cyprus, Turkey and Greece."

Career summary

Yiannis Papadomarkakis, Publisher of RE+D and Director of Athens-based Wave Media Operations, is a registered architect and a journalist. He graduated from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 1988. Yiannis obtained his Master's Degree in Architecture at Pratt Institute, New York (1990), and is a Ph.D. candidate at NTUA. He has designed and built several office buildings as well as housing projects.

Since 1981, Yiannis has been working as a journalist for many Greek dailies in Athens ("Eleftherotypia," "Kathimerini," "To Vima," etc.) and New York (correspondent in the United Nations for "Eleftherotypia" and "Kerdos") in the field of economics.

Yiannis is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), the Association of Greek Architects (SADAS), and the Journalists' Union of Athens Daily Newspapers (ESIEA).
