Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club, Russia

An exciting integrated residential golf, marina and equestrian complex

The Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is a new residential golf complex located 38 km. from Moscow. Designed by Dave Thomas Limited (Paul and Dave Thomas), Golf Course Design Consultants, of the United Kingdom and built to the highest specifications, Pestovo looks like being a tournament venue site in the coming years.

An extremely long and challenging course, it will match the exclusive intentions of the owners. The club is scheduled to open in summer 2006.

Management company: CCA Hospitality Management, a subsidiary of CCA International Ltd. Anticipated opening date: The developers are planning to open the Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club in summer 2006. By that time, they plan to have the following ready: an 18-hole golf course, yacht club, equestrian centre, homes, apart-hotel, spa, restaurants, tennis courts, and a clubhouse.

Golf course: 6,685 metres (7,305 yards), par 72, 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Dave and Paul Thomas with a clear aim of hosting major tournaments, but still offering a challenging, yet fair test of golf for the club's members and guests. The developer also aim to "produce memorable golf holes that become an enjoyable golfing experience".

The Yacht Club will include a modern 70-slip marina, where vessels of up to 25 metres can be moored.

Equestrian club: around 70-75 stables
The complex has spacious stables for up to 70 horses. All the horseboxes are large and the majority are equipped with warm wooden floors. The stable is connected to an indoor arena, where windows and doors are large and convenient. To insure that the horses are well-cared for, the developers have built some sun decks, tread mills and baths for them. Furthermore, some of the horseboxes are fitted with special clay floors that are necessary for special treatments.

Homes
The luxury houses and apartments are located in one of the most picturesque parts of the Pestovo Golf and Yacht Club. Some plots have a view on the golf course and lakes, whilst others enjoy a magnificent forest view. Pestovo's  construction quality guarantees absolute satisfaction of owners' wishes concerning the functionality of the homes. Large windows are used in the houses to enhance the views. Building materials such as natural stone and Western Red Cedar from Canada are being used during construction. Western Red Cedar has demonstrated an ability to absorb and dissipate sound energy. The cell structure converts the sound energy into heat by friction and viscoelastic resistance. The use of cedar for walls and ceilings provides a level of sound insulation that will make rooms a little quieter. Western Red Cedar is also an excellent thermal insulator. The low density and presence of air spaces make it the best insulator of any available softwood. This eliminates problems related to dryness or excessive humidity, leaving homeowners with comfort and protection. For the roofs, the developers are suggesting cedar shingles, a new material for the Russian market. Each home is unique in its own way and tailored to each owner's needs.

Clubhouse
The clubhouse has three majestic floors and is designed in a Medieval English style, surrounded by lakes and a forest close to the XIX Century estate. From the golf course, the view of this beautiful building is surrounded by wide open terraces, with the magnificence views of the 18th and 13th greens, as well as the 1st and 14th tees and the driving range. 
On the clubhouse's ground floor, there is direct access to the golf course and its facilities include: a men's locker room (with a capacity of no less than 350 members), a ladies' locker room (for 130 members), a golf pro shop and a bag room storage space.

On the same floor, members and guests can use the fitness centre, while on the top floor of the clubhouse children will be able to play in the play room of the kids' centre or see the latest movies in the cinema, which will also serve as a multi-functional room for parties and special events.

A beautiful terrace designed to host members and guests is available on the ground floor with a summer bar (for barbecues) on the lawn between the building and the golf course.
